KENYA JOINS THE GROWING LIST OF COUNTRIES BANNING GMO FOODS AND CROPS
I've spent many blogs on this site covering the growing opposition to GMO crops and foods, including some time on the recently "defeated" California Proposition 37, which would have required labeling of GMO foods. Some countries have passed total bans, others, predominantly in Europe, partial ones. Now the African nation of Kenya has joined this growing list:
Kenya bans importation of GMO foods
What is apparent in Kenya is what is apparent in most other countries initiating such full or partial bans:
"Public Health minister Beth Mugo subsequently directed all Public Health Officers at all ports of entry and all other government regulators to enforce the ban on importation of Genetically Modified Foods in the country.
"This she says was following the decision made by the cabinet to ban the importation of GMO foods into the country due to inadequate research done on GMOs and scientific evidence provided to prove the safety of the foods until such a time that the country will certify that they have no negative impacts on the health of consumers."
We've covered various stories of the growing body of research indicating potential health hazards from GMO foods, and in addition, my co-author Dr Scott de Hart and I wrote of the shenanigans of GMO companies in Transhumanism, and how such studies and data were actively suppressed in the rush to deregulate the agricultural industry: scientists questioning weak or incompetent studies were pressured or hounded out of the field.
But the story only continues to spread.
With that in mind, consider this story:
They Are Going To Make It Nearly Impossible To Pass On A Farm Or A Business To Your Children
My purpose in drawing your attention to this article is not to join, nor too condone nor even to signal my personal agreement with those predicting economic collapse (and there seem to be two broad trends: deflationary, and inflationary or hyper-inflationary). That such discretely opposing interpretations and analyses could be offered only indicate, to my mind, the fact that the situation is so odd and unusual, that no one really knows.
My real purpose in drawing your attention to this article is contextual: for consider, with growing opposition in the US and Europe, to Latin America, Asia, and Africa, to GMO crops and foods, the other method of ensuring the introduction of such foods, and increasing the corporate profits of those companies peddling it, are to bust up the family farm, and to buy up the remaining lands, through the tried and true methods of government regulation and mercantilist policies.

American agribusiness may really be painting themselves into a corner with this big commitment to GMO. And if you can’t even get the hapless Africans and their hopelessly corrupt leadership to buy it and eat it, you are really screwed. As agribusiness is a huge chunk of the US export economy, at what point does this start to do serious damage to the US economy as a whole? Carefully planned economic warfare by our adversaries (Putin?)
The good news maybe that prices in the US supermarkets might drop with this glut of GMO swill. The bad news is we will be stuffed to the gills with this swill and the American homo sapien sapien will be extinct in a generation and the new species of American will be incredibly fat along with all the other genetic mutations.
Fattened up for the skewering? Maybe also part of the plan. We will be the nation most messed up by GMO foods. So fat and dull witted we will be incapable of defending ourselves when the time comes to feast on the fattened goose.
Here is an interesting “trend” also of note.
The first recorded instance of deliberate crossing of genes from two plants, took place in 1720, and the result was a “pink carnation”.
In 2009 a couple of “artists” reverse-engineered a patented “blue carnation” seed and released it into the “wild”; thus testing the premises of “scientic monopoly”. They were giving the plants a “chance of sexual reproduction”, denied them by the monopoly powers to be.
Bottom line?
The intellectual prperty protection of life was put to the test by the disobediance of flowers.
Food has not only become genetically engineered; it has also become financialized. Now, the higher the price, the better the investment. The better the investment, the more costly the food. And those who cannot pay, pay with hunger or starvation. Now they have introduced a new conceptual elitist, transnational media, food language:
“ASustainalbilityUnit”, “MarketCapture”, “FoodRegime”, “Mutagenesis”, “Xanthomonas”, and much more. They can thus target hunger/starvation where & when they want.
Bottom line?
The food system in the 21st century is better at filling the pockets of transnationalists
than the stomachs of everyone else.
